TOEFL– (Test of English as a Foreign Language)Monday and Wednesday class  TOEFL is an English Proficiency test conducted to evaluate the English speaking and understanding ability of a candidate.  TOEFL is accepted as proof of English proficiency in 9,000 colleges, universities and organizations.  Students are required to purchase the textbook: The Complete Guide to the TOEFL Test: iBT Edition (Exam Essentials) 4th Edition.    Check back in Winter

Canasta

Bring your friends and gather around the card table to learn Canasta!  This six week program will introduce you to the game that everyone is playing.  Two decks of cards, paper and pen, and the desire to activate your brain is all you need.   Monday Class is 7:00 to 9:00 & Tuesday Class is 7:00 to 9:00 & Wednesday Class is 5:00 to 7:00 or 7:00 to 9:00.

Yoga for Seniors 55+ This class is designed for Seniors.

Students are led through stretches, yoga postures, breathing practices and relaxation techniques. Yoga provides a basis for increased flexibility, strength and well being.  You will work on your core and balance in this class. Bring your own Floor Mat or Towel.

Yoga for Seniors 50+ Athletes and Advanced This class is a Yoga class for Seniors 50+ who are athletes/advanced students.  You will work with additional demanding postures, standing yoga and Qigong exercise.  Instruction will include: seated wide angle series, lotus prep 1 & 2, dynamic forward bend & plow,  shoulder-stand and threading the needle.  Bring your own floor mat or towel. $70 9/26/19

Portuguese – Beginner’s

This is a level one course designed for real beginners. It is aimed towards basic conversational Portuguese. It includes a number of 8 verb tenses at least, a vocabulary of about 400 words and the correct word-order for sentences in different verb tenses. We also cover a number of short stories which increase vocabulary and help to face daily situations in real Portuguese.

This is a second level course which makes students develop longer sentences and consequently a more fluent conversation and dialogues. You should be able to use the 8 verb forms seen in the previous basic course and add at least 4 more new verb tenses and a number of about 700 words.  Mental Health First Aid for Adults Mental Health First Aid is a 8-hours training course designed to give members of the public key skills to help someone who is developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis.  Just as CPR training helps a layperson without medical training assist an individual experiencing a heart attack, Mental Health First Aid training helps a layperson assist someone experiencing a mental health crisis. $25

Private Investigator Certification Course This is a 40-hour training course for the “CC” license. The teacher will teach the class and administer an examination.
